[Discussion] If all Chinese bitcoin mining were to suddenly stop, what do you think would happen to bitcoin? Would it be a good time to join a mining pool?
I imagine it would effect mining profitability because hash rate would suddenly decrease by 70ish%. Or am I way off? Perhaps it could also indirectly mess with the price by effecting demand? Would love to hear your opinions and/or speculations. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday!

What do users do who want to help raise mining BIP 101 blocks but don't have professional mining hardware? If enough people have the same goal (BIP 101), can't we get a substantial percentage of hashing power?
The integrity of the Bitcoin system ultimately depends on decentralizing of the power of computation. So, shouldn't everyone at least be encouraged to join a mining pool?
In other words, there's too much emphasis on ASICs and FPGAs and multi-GPU rigs. Isn't it important for the little guy to contribute to the system as well? Shouldn't that be encouraged? Shouldn't pooling be built into clients for this very purpose?
